Mr. Un Yong KIM who is a South Korea Member of International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Mr. Chang Ung who is a North Korea Member of IOC agreed to strengthen a close cooperative relationship and will visit each other for enlivening sports exchange between South and North Korea.

Mr. Un Yong KIM and Mr. Chang Ung joined together on 24 and 25 September in discussing North Korean team attendance at the Busan Asian Games. They promised to be lavish with each other in order to hold a successful Asian Games and exchange taekeondo teams as soon as possible.

Mr. Un Yong KIM and Mr. Chang Ung decided to hold an Asian IOC members meeting and discuss a plan to develop the Asian Games during the Busan Asian Games. For this reason, Mr. Chang Ung will visit South Korea and Mr. Un Yong KIM will visit North Korea in the middle of September with South Korean taekwondo delegation team. He will discuss exchange of all kinds of sports events with North Korea participants.

President of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAIFS), Mr. Un Yong KIM said that North Korea Taekwon-Do team could compete in the 2004 Olympic Games, we will grope for a way to 2004 Olympic Games even though North Korea is not a member of the WTF, but a member of the ITF.

Mr. Un Yong KIM promised to support the development of North Korea sports through the GAIFS. Mr. Chang Ung said that North Korea will take part in the world Games that will be hosted by the GAIFS at Germany in 2005. He also said that North Korea will send teams to all kinds of South Korea sports events actively. About taekwondo unification, Mr. Chang Ung said that ITF and WTF should talk enough with each other gradually, but I believe the future of Taekwon-Do is bright.
