"In order to overcome the differences between South and North, it is time to make efforts for unifying Taekwondo." Mr. O No Kyun Said. The middle of the June, Professor O No Kyun visited North Korea for an event between North and South Korea. He discussed about unifying Taekwondo with the directors of the North Korea Sports Committee.

Mr. O No Kyun said that the exchange of Taekwondo between North and South will be brisk soon. He also met the vice Chairman of the Korea Sports Committee. It was confirmed that North Korea will take part in the activities in order to unify Taekwon-Do.

Mr. O No Kyun also said "I requested to the vice Chairman that I hope North Korea sends a delegation to perform Taekwon-Do for the events of Taekwondo in July and September this year. Unfortunately, because of the president of ITF, Choi Hong Hi who has a great effect to North Taekwon-Do passed away. It is a pity that I did not get an exact response. But the vice Chairman said that it is a good idea to send a Taekwon-Do delegation to South Korea for Asian Games. So I have a little confidence.
South Korea has strong sparing, and North Korea has strong patterns. We should accept each other and make efforts to unify Taekwondo. And then it is possible to unify ITF and WTF, and the patterns will be adopted by Olympic Games."

Mr. O No Kyun also attended a meeting of Taekwon-Do held at Koryo Hotel in Pyongyang between North and South on 29 to 31 May 2002. During that time he met the directors of the North Korean Taekwon-Do and the departed Choi Hong Hi. They discussed about unifying Taekwon-Do and working on a Taekwon-Do guide book. Also they discussed about expanding cooperation between North and South.

In 2000, it was an event of Taekwon-Do between North and South in China. Last year South Korea Academic Foundation supported North Korea in order to advance more wide exchange between North and South Korea.
