On 29 to 31 May 2002, the meeting of Taekwon-Do
will be held at Koryo Hotel in Pyongyang between North and South.
North Korea Taekwon-Do Committee (Chairman Bong Yong Hwang) will
hold a meeting to grope for a cooperative way and plan with South
Korea delegation of Taekwondo academic exchange.
The meeting will be a first dialogue of Taekwon-Do between North
and South after Korea was interrupted. It is very important to
return same name and root but different systems. Through this
visiting, both sides will try to find out a way to produce a friendly
atmosphere for unification of Taekwon-Do between North and South
and promote Taekwon-Do in the world in order to encourage a reconciliatory
atmosphere and peace between North and South.
On 28 May, South Korea delegation will visit North Korea. Professor
of Chong Cheong College, Director of North and South Taekwondo
Research Institute, Mr. O No Kyun said that the delegation is
invited by North Korea Taekwon-Do Committee. The members of delegation
are as following.
Mr. Jung Zhong Taek, President of Chong Cheong College.
Mr. O No Kyun, Professor of Chong Cheong College, Director of
Taekwondo Research Institute.
Mr. Jung Can Mo, Professor of Dankook University, President of
university Taekwondo Federation.
Mr. Kang Jin Heng, Professor of Gyeongsang National University,
A director of Korean Taekwondo Association.
Mr. Lee Seng Kuk, Professor of Korean national University of Physical
Education, Vice President of university Taekwondo Federation.
Mr. Cho Ken Zhong, Professor and Director of Sports College of
Hanyang University.
Mr. Lee En Song, Professor of University Inchon, Director of university
Taekwondo Federation.
Mr. Lee Seng Hun, Professor of Gyongmun University.
Mr. Yu Seng Hi, Professor of Kyunghee University, President of
Korean Sports Congress.
Mr. Kim Yang Zhong, Professor of Suwoon University, President
of Korean Sports Sociology.
Mr. Jin Zhong Yi, Professor of Yongin University, President of
Korean Taekwondo Congress.
The members of North Korean side are Mr. Park Myong Chol, Chairman
of North Korea Sports Committee, Mr. Chang Ung, the member of
IOC, Mr. Hwang Bong Yong, North Korea Taekwon-Do Committee.
It is reported that the president of International Taekwon-Do
Federation, Choi Hong Hi will attends this meeting.
