| On September 22, 2002 the Special Congress of the
International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) was held and a Member
of International Olympic Committee, Mr. Chang Ung was formally elected
as President of the ITF by the leaders and delegations of 46 countries.
Also Mr. Chang Ung was formally confirmed as President of the ITF
by Consultative Council of the ITF. Mr. Chang Ung was appointed
as General Choi’s successor by General Choi’s Last Words.
On September 16, 2002 after Mr. Chang Ung watched
a performance of the South Korea taekwondo delegation, he said
it is possible to unify Taekwon-Do if we are going to make the
best efforts. The president of the South Korea Taekwondo Association
had indicated that the President of the ITF, Mr. Chang Ung will
visit South Korea to attend Asian Games held in Busan.
