Pursuing the Do
makes you invincible
-Taekwon-Do, a martial art,
a philosophy, and a way of life
The name Tae Kwon Do comes from Chinese characters which are pronounced
“Tai Quan Dao”. Do is the Korean pronunciation of
Chinese character Dao, which literally means way, road, or route.
The founder of Tae Kwon Do, General Choi Hong Hi, said that the
Do (or Dao) is a way of benevolence and rightness paved by sages
in ancient times, such as Confucius, Laozi (Lao-tzu), and so on.
The purpose of learning Tae Kwon Do is to pursue the Dao, the
way of life to lead a carefree and moral life and build a strong
body through regular and scientific training. Regarding Dao, I
would like to talk about the thought of Laozi since he was the
senior of Confucius, and Laozi specifically wrote about the Dao
in Dao De Jing which means The Book of the Dao (Way) and De (Virtue).
Laozi encourages people to approach the Dao

Emptiness is Form
-Taekwon-Do, a martial art,
a philosophy, and a way of life
Today, I would like to talk about emptiness and form, because I
think emptiness is a key concept in Buddhist philosophy. We could
learn an idea of the way of life. The following phrase is the most
celebrated paradox associated with Buddhist philosophy.“Form
is emptiness; emptiness is form. Emptiness is no other than form;
form is no other than emptiness. “ There have been many
ways to explain the meaning of emptiness and form. In order to
bring their meaning into our lives closer, here, I would like
to make an example as simple as possible to help us understand
better through scientific analysis. As we know well, matter is
every substance in the universe,

Taekwon-Do Instructors in China Fiddle with Rocks
China International Taekwon-Do Federation has successfully held
three International Taekwon-Do seminars continuously, close to
the Chinese Taekwon-Do lovers to enjoy the flavor of the World
Taekwon-Do predecessors, and created valuable opportunities. Through
several international seminars, we have seen not only the superb
technical predecessors, but also their love and dedication of
Taekwon-Do, and meticulous teaching attitude. On 21 May 2006,
Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha and Chinese Taekwon-Do lovers gathered
together to learn Taekwon-Do technical skills and had a great
time. This is a rare event, the pride of the Chinese Taekwon-Do
lovers. However, people cannot help but ask why some people ignored
the vital interests of Taekwon-Do lovers everywhere by spreading
rumors with all means to undermine a popular seminar?

Positive and Negative
-Taekwon-Do, a martial art,
a philosophy, and a way of life
Today, I would like to talk about two adjectives, Positive and
Negative. They are well known words. We often hear about Positive
thinking, Positive attitude and so on. I would like to share my
idea with you, for it could be valuable in terms of dealing with
difficulties in the future.
As you know well, Positive means constructive, forward-looking,
plus, optimistic, hopeful, and so on. Negative is opposite to
Positive. It means destructive, backward-looking, minus, pessimistic,
hopeless, and so on.
This is why people always say we should have Positive thinking
or Positive attitude, not Negative. Positive is a plus to us while
Negative is a minus. We all prefer Positive rather than Negative.
However, you might wonder why we have Negative thinking sometimes.

How much is enough?
-Taekwon-Do, a martial art,
a philosophy, and a way of life
When our very basic needs are satisfied and we are content with
our circumstances, we should consider that it is enough for our
life. However, with the aggressively developing modern material
world, our desires for possessions are expanding. Although it is
not easy to turn down temptations from the material world, if we
pursue the endless desires of materials, we will never be satisfied;
we will be tired, and we will never be happy. The reality in the
material world is that we are often not satisfied with the possessions
we have now, because we want more possessions than others do. Then,
how much is enough? continue... |
